Description

The gods demanded a special sacrifices once every decade. Lots were drawn amongst them to see who the main sacrifice would go to. Then based upon this, the winner would then convey to their priests or priestesses what the requirements were for this special sacrifice. It was always a being: elf, human, halfling, dwarf, mixed, or whatever. Once the sacrifice was found, preparations were made. The person to be given up to the gods was treated like royalty for the month before the sacrifice. Then when the day came, the person was taken to the sacrificial rock by the sea to await the winning god's earthly avatar to arrive to collect the sacrifice. It is unknown to the folks what happens after the sacrifice is taken. And really it depends on the god that won. Some are more malevolent and cruel, so the sacrifice ends up dying. Some are more benevolent and kind; their sacrifice can be sent to paradise after a time with their god/dess, be given immortality and allowed to serve their god/dess, and the rare few are allowed to be sent back to their families and former lives.

Today's sacrifice is to the sea god. He desired a new wife. He asked his followers for a woman of uncommon skin color and hair blue like the ocean on a calm day, with eyes as deep as the ocean. A woman young and full of life, unmarried and untouched by man. A woman whose voice could melt the coldest of hearts. To be fair, he gave them extra time and told them of his desired sacrifice 3 months prior to the special day.

It took them most of that 3 months to find her; in the lowest of low slums. A child of strange mixed origins. They took her and cleaned her. They gave her clothing fit for a princess that made her skin and hair all the more stunning. And though she knew she was to be sacrificed and accepted the fate, she was scared. What awaited her on the other side.

When that day arrived, the head priest took pity in his heart and as he locked only one of the wrist chains, he whispered into her ear, "Fear not child, your fate is a kind one. Death does not await you, but rather a life of splendor and luxory. Our lord desires a wife and this is to be you. Your life will be better now, because you are recieving this rare and special honor."

And though it did ease her worries some, new worries began to cloud her thoughts as she patiently waited. What if she was not what he hoped for? What if she angered him? What if she could not bear him any children and he desired children? And many more questions whirled in her mind.

Then, the waters became choppy. And up from the waters rose a great dragon of the sea. Her mortal mind got the better of her and she drew back, scared for her life. The dragon gazed at her curiously, taking her in and examining her from head to toe.

A smile seemed to appear on his huge muzzle. Fog rose and the waters splashed, and suddenly the dragon was no longer standing, but a being of great beauty. A man, who was not a man. It was the sea god himself, come to collect his new bride.

He walked over to her, releasing her from her bonds. Gently he took her hands in his, and kissed them softly. Her fears melted away and she found she could not look away for his eyes, which were like her own in many ways. He drew her close and softly kissed her lips.

Lifting her in his arms, he walked down the stairs of the rock, nodded his thanks to the folks on shore, and continued on, into the waves of the ocean, disappearing with his new bride.

:new:EDIT fixed a few quirks and kinks in the scene. Changed her hair because the other one just wasn't working for me. Added a bit more jewelry and changed her armlets.

Created Part2 of the scene/story as well. ^_^

Old version of this reloaded as a scrap so you can see the changes.

This is a very belated gift to *loveit. The original piece I was making for her was not turning out to my liking and was taking too long because I had FIVE figures in it! The more people in a scene, the longer things take to work with and load and render. >_< So with my new goodies, I settled on starting all over and with something else. This is what came of it. I hope she like it! :cookie:

Renderosity had a special going for folks that subscribed to the email newsletter. To celebrate 10-10-10, they gave subscribes a free $10 gift certificate, 10% off any order of $25 or more, and all good for 10 days! So I jumped on the offer, seeing that I had some money left in my paypal account. I got some new skins for V4 and new outfits to tinker with to get the right thing for my ASC characters. I looked at stuff that was cheap, on sale, and clearance. So all told, before clearance and sale prices, everything totalled about $60; factor in the special prices, it was just at $42. Take 10% off is almost five buck. Take the $10 gift certificate off and that means I only paid around $25 for all the goodies I bought!

I used one of the new outfits here, with the armlets I got on clearace, and one of my new skin textures for V4. :D Everything else I've had for a while from Daz's website.

Created in DazStudio3. Took 2 hours to create and 20 minutes to render.
