Red Beaded Brooch

I made this with nothing but red in mind...I started w/ the cherry quartz scarab near the top and went from there...(right in description is your left and visa versa) w/ darker reds on the right lowerish side and regular red on the left upperish side...when I was done, I decided it needed more, so I dug around for more red stuff in my beading boxes and found a few red dagglies and choose these three...the bright red one on the right is just a glass drop bead; the center one came from a pair of earrings, it's sterling silver w/ Marcasite and Garnet; and the far left on is a pewter charm w/ a red glass rhinestone in it...

This took FOREVER!!!! But when done I loved it so much that I decided to keep it and I have it on my jean jacket. I'm very proud of this piece...lots of work and thinking and frustrating...but in the end, I was happy and was well worth it...

The larger circular part is just a bit bigger than a silver dollar (which is a bit bigger than a 50cent piece)...My scanner doesn't do this justice, but it gives you an idea. Cherry Quartz is a man-made semi-precious gemstone.
