To get the old journal off my front page and let you guys know how things are.
Right now, FREEZING cold. Hence the skin from last winter
instead of the Xmas/Solstice themed one I need to finish.
My phone says it is 20, and feels like 10... a bit better than a few hrs ago, when it said 15 but feels like 0....
Kids are great. Amy is doing good in school and learning the trumpet nicely. Xavier turned 5 today! But he is still my little man :snuggle: May get a kitten soon, for Xmas. There is a kitten rescue place up in Eastland (half hr away), and we miss having a cat. I saw one on their page that is ready to adopt, a black and white female. She likes to go in the shower and loves water, but hates baths
There are a few other kittens, but that whole water/shower thing is just adorable. Her name is Tipsy. Once the weather clears, and if she is still available, we are going to get her, otherwise it will be one of the other ones.
Busy last month, expect more new stuff!
ANYWAY, since November 1st, been busy doing artwork and writing. Some you have already seen, some if gift art for the holidays, and some is personal. The writing is all mostly private as well, except the chapters of Dire Dilemma I have been working on. I was talking to Lisa last night and decided to see how many pictures I have done since November 1st and I counted roughly 45. So that's just over a picture a day, on average.
Back in October, I got the idea to do a 12 days of gift art for the Holidays. So you all will very soon get to see the fruits of those labors! It's actually more than that, I need to finish one or two more, but otherwise, starting Dec 13th and going until the 25th, a picture is scheduled to upload every day, between midnight and 3am my time. So a few of you can may see something
And thanks to dA's new mention's feature, you will see it in your messages. I scheduled it all, since I have no internet beyond my phone, at the house still. Not sure when we'll get it. So I had to upload everything when I had access to wifi and schedule them slowly but surely and it all is now.
Ok, onto other things. I am open still for commissions. Details in previous journal:
ALSO, on the note of commissions, someone recently asked me for one. They wanted a series of pictures, that would have involved lots of work on my part, in DS and in postwork. It would have meant hours of work, on my part and lots of starting at the screen, until my vision blurred as I got everything just right. I quoted the minimum price for such: $100 and, that was actually undercharging and asked for half up front since it was such a huge project/amount. It was to be about 6 pictures, so I quoted it at the $15/pic price, and factored in a smidge for labor ($10). I never heard back, I even sent a note a couple days later, asking them to please clarify if their silence was indeed them backing out of it. That was over a week ago. Needless to say, that money would have come in handy for the holidays. The kids will still have xmas, but that would have helped make it better. SO let me be clear, I am NOT going to undercharge on projects like that. Especially on ones of that sort. You want cheap art, please, go elsewhere and do not virtually ask me to take money from my children, so you can have your...whatever jollies fed. Yeah, I am annoyed. I am not shy about doing odd requests, but I do CLEARLY STATE in my official commissions journal, that it will cost you more. Take your business elsewhere, if you aren't serious, or don't like my prices (which are already low, considering the hours I put into each picture, I am not even getting minimum wage).
Can't think of anything else right now...
Talk to you all later! Have a happy holidays, and those in the northern hemisphere, stay warm this winter, and those in the southern hemisphere, stay cool this summer.
